Blood of the untainted, spirit of the pure, innocence of the soul, cleanse this place.
This long and taxing ritual is used to purify an unhallow or tainted place or structure. The ritual requires no more or less than participants and some sacrifice. Ritual may have secondary casters, but they are never allowed to make any skill checks for the incantation. They are there only to step in if a primary caster becomes disabled. The ritual must be started at sunrise. If the first rays of the sun are visible and shine down on the target, all skill check DCs are at -4.
During the first 8 hours, the three casters (who are all considered primary casters and can divide the skill checks betweenst them however they wish, as long as everyone makes at least 3 during the whole incantation) assess the damage done to the first seal, the Body, and restore it. Doing so takes the life energy of the first primary caster, and forces her to sacrifice 2 points of Constitution (which heals as ability damage would). This also invades the minds of evil creatures nearby and attracts them to the point the ritual is held. The area in which evil beings are attracted is dependent on the power of the evil being dispelled.
During the second 8 hours, the casters assess the damage done to and repair the second seal, the Mind. Doing so takes a toll on the second primary caster, and forces her to become blinded. As the 16th hour ends, a hostile being manifests in the area and will try to destroy all who are there. For one minute, the ritual can be interrupted without any negative impact, but primary casters cannot leave the area. After one minute, the hostile entity is forced back with the beginning of the cleansing of the third seal.
Starting the third and last seal, the soul, is a crucial skill check. If that check fails, the hostile entity won’t be forced back, but must be defeated or evaded in some other way. In any case, the third primary caster must sacrifice 500 xp as her very soul is damaged by being in touch of the unholy powers. The ritual ends exactly when the sun rises again.
If done correctly and succesfully, at the moment of ritual’s end, the area is removed of Unhallow or any similar spell effect of the same or lower power.
